RE: DONATION FUND Peguis youth Members, 26 years and younger, may apply to the Peguis Child and Family Services’ Donation Fund for financial support to participate in extracurricular activities such as: sporting, recreation events, karate, ballet, among others, in order to promote wellness and a sense of belonging to the community for child(ren), youth and families.  The Donation Fund is limited to; · Individual Peguis Member requests only. Organizations are not able to apply on behalf of a Member.All recipients must sign both the Donation Fund Application Form and the Donation Fund Recipient Form. · $500.00 per request, per child, per fiscal year (April 1 to March 31). · $9,000.00 per local church and/or traditional lodge that service all Members in the community of Peguis First Nation. · $9,500.00 to Peguis Central School per fiscal year as requested. · The Agency will also provide two (2) Awards to Peguis Central School Gr.12’s Graduation, in the amount of $1,000.00 each. Priority will be given to those students entering into the Social Services field. The Director of Finance is delegated the responsibility to coordinate a team to review and approve requests. The Donation Committee shall ensure resources are distributed equitably. Applicants must sign an acknowledgement form granting permission to disclose any information to satisfy donation eligibility criteria. All donations provided by the Agency will be reported every fiscal year in the Agency’s Annual General Report. Peguis Child and Family Services has been busy this Christmas season, operations include: · 1,300 Christmas Hampers delivered to households in the Peguis and surrounding areas. · 2,200 Christmas Hampers delivered to households in the Winnipeg, Selkirk and Brandon areas. · Children in Care Christmas Gathering with 300 caregivers attended with children. · EOSA (Extension of Service Agreement) Christmas Gathering · 1,500 Dinner come-and-go at Peguis First Nation. · Christmas dinner at Selkirk, MB, 328 Peguis Members attended. · Christmas dinner at Winnipeg, MB, 720 Peguis Members attended. · 89 positions hired to help with Christmas Hampers, deliveries and Christmas dinners. · $72,000.00 of artwork purchased from Peguis artists during this year’s Artists Callout. Special acknowledgement to all Agency staff for all their hard work with the Peguis families this year. Christmas Greetings to all Peguis Members on behalf of the Board of Directors and all staff.

Update on National Class Action Settlement on the First Nations Child and Family Services and Jordan’s Principle Settlement Please review the attached link for the latest on the national class action settlement on the First Nations Child and Family Services and Jordan’s Principle Settlement. The Claims Application period begins on March 10, 2025 for two classes, The Removed Child Class, and the Removed Child Family Class – these are two of the nine classes that are eligible in the settlement. These first two classes deal with FN individuals who were removed from their homes between April 1, 1991 and March 31, 2022 while on reserve and placed in care while funded by ISC. PEGUIS FIRST NATION, TREATY 1 TERRITORY - DECEMBER 12, 2024 RE: LAND PURCHASE IN SELKIRK, MB Peguis Child and Family Services (the “Agency”) is excited to announce the purchase of 4.29 acres in Selkirk, MB. The land, LOT 2 PLAN 50139 WLTO IN RL 50 TO 56 PARISH OF ST CLEMENTS, is located on Manitoba Avenue, adjacent to the Manitoba Public Insurance building. As part of the Honouring our Children, Families and Nation Act Coordination Agreement, the Agency negotiated Capital Projects as part of this agreement to provide child and family services to membership to prevent children from coming into care. The Agency looks forward to providing services to our Members with the continued focus on building and strengthening the community. Purchase Price: $2,623,000.00 Size: 4.29 Acres Date of Possession: December 31, 2024 Property Description: LOT 2 PLAN 50139 WLTO IN RL 50 TO 56 PARISH OF ST CLEMENTS The property acquired is located near the former St.Peter’s Reserve. The repatriation of this property acknowledges and signifies the unjust loss that our Members experienced having been removed from our traditional lands. This land purchase is one action representing Reconciliation with the City of Selkirk and its citizens. The property is to facilitate the following: 13,000 sq/ft Peguis Child and Services, Selkirk Office building; A place to gather and access child and family services in a setting that fosters healing and reconciliation as a family and community; Expansion of services and programs in St. Peter's and surrounding areas; Ceremonial and Land Based area for Members and community at large; Truth and Reconciliation Gatherings to support community healing journey; and Community Garden. The scope of work on the property may provide for contracts for Peguis Members during construction. With office space created in the Selkirk area, more staff will also need to be hired creating more potential employment for our Peguis Members.
